This 2CD set collects all the available Cream ‘broadcast’ material plus the NME audience recording. This material is derived from various sources including off-air recordings so quality is variable. The BBC transcription recordings are remastered from tapes of the transcription discs. The original tapes no longer exist. It is notable that sound quality of these recordings is superior to the official releases. I’d suggest that these sources are much younger transfers (70’s?) and thus are not showing the effects of age. Hiss is present rather then the digital artifacts created by the cleaning process used on the official release.

A new off-air recording (reel-to-reel from an FM broadcast in 1972) of the March ‘67 Konserthuset show is included (CD1 Tr19-23). This is the very best sounding version available—you feel like you’re at stage-front.

The newly discovered tracks are: We’re Going Wrong from the Palais show (CD2 Tr 10) and the 2nd RAH show White Room (CD2 Tr23). This is really for completists as neither track is essential.

Tracks are arranged in chronological order and includes rare photo insert including the actual Konserthuset performance.
