was formed in June 1966 by Ginger Baker (drums), Eric Clapton (guitar & vocals) and Jack Bruce (bass & vocals). After 30 months of hard touring and recording of 4 albums they broke up in December 1968. They built their reputation on performing exciting and extensive instrumental improvisations contrasted to melodic recordings. Cream moved pop music from the performing of catchy songs into the realms of instrumental virtuosity. They were one of the creators of what we now call Rock Music. ![]() |
