The Barbecue 67 concert was horrendous. It was basically a large shed and the promoters had massively oversold the number of tickets. They cleared off and left it to the bands to perform in impossible conditions and the police to manage the crowd. It was crammed and stiffling. Jimi valiantly struggled to keep his guitar in tune and amps functioning. Cream as second top billing would have suffered the same. A great bill though and check the price! "I saw them again at the
Tulip Shed in Spalding some weeks later, Eric introduced Hendrix after the
Cream set. Jimi had trouble tuning up and also had amp problems and the
crowd were baying for Eric to tune his guitar for him. It was one of
Hendrix's early gigs. I can't remember much of Cream's performance, such a
huge crowd and lousy sound and I was young and fancy free..." (Dave
Morriss) Jimi looks happy, don't
